Biography

Karin Fahlén has more than thirty years of experience within film, TV, radio and advertising. She has worked as a film director since 2001 with various short films, radio theatre and commercials. In Chicago October 2013 she premiered her first feature film “Stockholm Stories” which was very well received both in Sweden and around the world at various film festivals.
She spent her teenage years in Cambridge, England where she completed her final school years and went on studying art at Cambridge college of Arts and Tech. Between 1985-1988 she attended Stockholm Dramatic Institute where she studied film and theatre make-up and special effects. She spent 15 years working as a make-up artist in various feature films such as “The Evil”, “Its all about love” DK, “the King of Ping Pong etc, also working on numerous shorts, television series, music videos and commercials in Sweden and around Europe.
During the latter half of this period she also worked with set-design, costume design, casting, assistant director and screenwriter.
Karins first engagement in the film industry was as an 11 year old stunt-girl for popular Swedish children movies “Emil in Lönneberga”.
